Frequently Asked Questions
Can I start numbering from something other than 1?
Yes. Set the starting number — useful when a cover page shouldn't count, or when the document is one chapter of something larger.
Will the numbers cover my content?
They sit in the page margin, roughly 10mm from the edge. If your document already prints close to the edge, move the number to a different corner or reduce the font size.
Which formats are available?
Plain numbers (1, 2, 3), number with total (1 / 10), 'Page 1', and 'Page 1 of 10'. The total adjusts automatically to your starting number.
Does this work on scanned PDFs?
Yes. Page numbers are drawn on top of whatever the page contains, so scans and image-only PDFs work exactly the same way.
