Frequently Asked Questions

What is a good typing speed?

Average typing speed is around 35–40 WPM. 50–60 WPM is good for most office work, 70+ is fast, and professional typists reach 90–120 WPM. Many typing-based job tests in banks, courts and government offices require 25–35 WPM depending on the role.

What's the difference between net and gross WPM?

Gross WPM counts everything you typed (5 characters = 1 word) regardless of mistakes. Net WPM counts only correctly typed words — it's the number that matters for tests and job requirements.

How do I type in Hindi?

Switch the language to Hindi above, then enable a Hindi keyboard on your device: on Windows go to Settings → Time & Language → Language → add Hindi; on Android/iOS add the Hindi layout in your keyboard app. Both Devanagari INSCRIPT and phonetic (transliteration) input work.

How can I improve my typing speed?

Practice daily in short sessions, focus on accuracy before speed (errors cost more time than slow typing), learn touch typing so you never look at the keyboard, and use all ten fingers with the home-row position.
